Mother, Child and Wormhole (2015). Paper and acrylics on cardboard

Parallel universes, quantum physics, strings, scissors and glue

New year, new soup. The next Artist Talk and Soup will glimpse into Ricarda Wallhäuser’s collages in relation to tough physics. All are welcome!

@Schillerpalais, Schillerpromenade 4, 12049 Berlin

In Ricarda’s own words:
Astrophysics offers highly inspirational thinking environments. Artists reflect on discussions about the form of the cosmos and its dimensions. While cosmology has also inspired my latest art practice, I want to touch on these theories and thoughts. I will present subjectively chosen works as a quantum glimpse into art history. I will give some playful explanations of thoughts without the demand of scientific correctness. I will also try provoking a discussion about what way the audience might find cosmological models inspiring and what existing influences they see in contemporary art production.

Ricarda Wallhäuser (born in 1972 in Siegen, Germany) lives and works in Berlin. She studied at Kunsthochschule Kassel. Her artistic medium over the years has been collage. Currently, Ricarda works with scissors, paper and glue.
