Isabella

With a background in biology (Bachelor’s in the UK and Master’s in Germany), Isabella currently works at the Freie Universität Berlin researching cyanobacteria and the toxins they produce. Even in the lab, the sense of awe at nature’s microscopic beauty remains a constant inspiration.

Alongside a strong scientific foundation, Isabella has been reconnecting with a long-standing creative drive—exploring mosaic-making, lino cutting, mushroom spore printing, and foraging.

Her interests focuses on microorganisms, from soil mites to single-celled organisms and how these hidden worlds can inform artistic expression. There are ideas brewing around video compilations, interactive microscope-based views, and even printing mite trails onto second-hand clothing.

Isabella brings a deep curiosity, a natural sense of aesthetics, and a willingness to learn and share. She is also experienced in facilitation, and have run workshops with both youth and adults. Future workshop ideas might include microscopy-based inspiration sessions, soil-sample storytelling, and more.
