LUFT – fair is in the air

LUFT – international networking event to highlight and connect the European artist-run art scene takes place Saturday, 10th and Sunday, 11th of September 1– 5 pm at KUNSTPUNKT, Schlegelstr. 6, 10115 Berlin

Eighteen initiatives from The Hague, Limerick, Stockholm, Riga, Copenhagen, Frankfurt and Berlin present their spaces and organisations, as well as selected art works at their stands in order to show their activities and start new collaborations.

ARNE (Artist-Run Network Europe) aims to strengthen the self-organised artist-run sector in Europe with a focus on local and international cooperation, and to create a simple information framework for art professionals and art students, namely through a collaborative online platform, the Artist-Run Resource Centre (ARRC).
We want to rise the visibility of artist initiatives in the professional art world and enhance the accessibility of the independent scene for the broad society. In a multi-layered format, the project bridges the gap between European cultures, professions and artists at different stages of their careers. It promotes international collaboration and mutual respect, and emphasises the importance of the artist-run movement with their freedom for experimental and innovative ideas. Read More

Farewells are always difficult for human beings. The relationship that humans establish with their location changes over time and their experiences of it, and through the daily activities they enact in it. The space extends to the memories humans share about it. The relationship established over time, changes and becomes part of lives. Leaving a routine that people are used to, sometimes takes the form of not being able to carry the burden of separation and changing as itself which we aren’t unable to accept it.

On a global scale, human relationship with the land is structured according to the decision-making of governments, property owners, institutions or organizations, individuals and structures independent from each other.
How is the position of human formed in the relation of place, time and space? How do the moment(um)s lived in this positioning to take form in our memory? When are we trying to maintain our mood and mental stability in the epidemic (Covid-19), how do we make our head (mind) sustain? Read More

Artist Talk & Soup
18.06.2022 Saturday, 19:00

There has never been just one body, there have always been too many – none of them knowing what to do with themselves, some better at pretending than the others. It would be too simple if it were only to throw a dice and wisdom would descend on us. So it is just to test the waters… play along. Lose a lot. Succeed at some. If you fail to play, at least watch the game.

The works contemplate the fragile symbiosis of the flesh, spirit and mind, in sickness and in health. Through adoration of skin the paintings inquire into how people interact Read More

common ground by Cosmo Niklas Schüppel

Installation / Participatory event
11.06.2022
18:00 – 22:00
TOP project space, Schillerpromenade 4, 12049 Berlin

As a participatory room installation common ground creates a space for inter-special connection – touching on topics of hierarchic, human-centred thinking, and wo*mankind’s relation to the unknown.

common ground invites visitors to experience reality consciously and in a shared space with the micro-algae Euglena Gracilis. Euglena Gracilis evolved at the overlaps of the animal and the plant kingdom – uniting in them many characteristics of non-human life on this planet. Read More

In 1964 Zdzisław Jurkiewicz moved to a small flat in Łaciarska Street in Wrocław, which would become the figure connecting the various aspects of his artistic work, and more – a point of intersection of all the numerous matters and issues that he found interesting. It was there that all the works featured at the exhibition at TOP were created: objects, paintings, photographs, but the role and function of the flat far exceeded the traditionally understood art studio; Read More
