We have a third workshop coming up! This time it will be a simple open space to get together and make use of the room and tools available, while sharing our skills and knowledge we have learnt so far.

***Please bring any scrap material you have at home or find on the streets. AND, please email info [at] commonslab [dot] de if you wish to attend***

Veiko kindly asks, if you have attended a workshop before, could you please bring along your previous constructions (given they aren’t too difficult to transport) for a small exhibition at the end of the workshop :-)

Background:
Over the course of several months, Common(s)Lab will facilitate a series of DIY (or rather, Do-It-Together) neighbourhood building workshops with the assistance of a skilled craftsman and product designer, Veiko Liis who is also a member of Top Schillerpalais. Together with participants, we will salvage wood and other materials from in and around the neighbourhood to construct tables, chairs, and planter boxes, and more – and learn about simple construction techniques, materials, sustainable surface treatment, and also, the background and causes of bulky waste and the issues connected to it.

To celebrate the conclusion of the workshop series we plan to set-up a shared neighbourhood meal in Schillerpromenade during summer, activating it as a place of community sharing and conviviality. We look forward to your participation!

26.5.2018 | DIY Möbelbau Workshop #3 – Offene Werkstatt
Der nun schon dritte Workshop steht an! Dieses Mal werden wir einfach nur die “Werkstatttüren” öffnen zum gemeinsamen Zusammenkommen und Werkeln, um Werkzeug, Wissen und bisherige Erfahrungen zu teilen. Herzlich Willkommen!

Veiko würde sich sehr freuen, wenn frühere Workshopteilnehmer ihre Möbelstücke für eine kleine Ausstellung am Ende des Workshops mitbringen könnten (wenn sie nicht zu schwer zu transportieren sind.. :-))

Hintergrund:
Über einen Zeitraum von mehreren Monaten wird das Common(s)Lab eine Serie von DIT (Do-it-together, das gemeinschaftliche DIY/Selbermachen) Möbelbau-Workshops hosten, mit Unterstützung des gelernten Möbelmachers und Produktdesigner Veiko Liis, der auch Teil der >top Schillerpalais Gemeinschaft ist. Gemeinsam mit euch wollen wir Holz und andere Materialien von den Straßen der Nachbarschaft retten um daraus Tische, Stühle, Pflanzkübel und vieles mehr zu konstruieren. Dabei wollen wir gemeinsam mehr erfahren über simple Konstruktionstechniken, Materialkunde, umweltfreundliche Oberflächenbehandlung; ebenso wie über die Hintergründe der Ursachen und des Umgangs mit Sperrmüll.

Als Höhepunkt und Abschluss der Möbelbauworkshops planen wir ein gemeinsames Abendessen unter freiem Himmel mit den selbstgebauten Stücken auf der Schillerpromenade, offen für die Nachbarschaft. Wir freuen uns auf euch!
