(* English version below*) Nach unserer ersten Intro-Veranstaltung der Reihe “Der Boden unter unseren Füßen” geht es nun mit dem Kompostieren von Haushaltsabfällen durch Fermentierung und gemeinsam bauen wir DIY “Fermi-Komposter-Eimer” fürs eigene Zuhause. Wir wollen uns verschiedene Open Source- Alternativen zur dafür notwendigen patentierten Fermentierungs-Starthilfe anschauen, wie z.B. Brottrunk, Sauerkrauftsaft, und eine Mischung aus Milchsäuren, Bakterien und Hefen.
Der Fermi-Komposter-Eimer kann aus nur wenigen Komponenten ganz einfach für Eure eigene Küche nachgebaut werden. Aus diesem Eimer könnt Ihr dann, neben dem Kompost, direkt Dünger für Eure Pflanzen oder Beete “melken”. Solltet Ihr keinen großen Bedarf an Kompost haben, planen wir durch ein Kompost-Netzwerk den Überschuss in der Nachbarschaft abzunehmen und an urbane Gärten weiterzuverteilen – das KK Kompost Kollektiv!

After our first introductory event of the workshop series ‘The ground beneath our feet’, we would like to invite you all to our next workshop! We will look into the topic of composting through fermentation and collectively build a DIY fermi-composter bucket for your own home. Also, we are going to explore different open-source alternatives to the necessary, but patented fermentation starter, e.g. ‘brottrunk’, sauerkraut juice, and a mix of lactic acid, bacteria and yeast.
The fermi-composter bucket can be easily constructed for your own kitchen, from only few components. The bucket produces, next to compost, a natural fertiliser for your plants and beds. In case you only have a few plants on your balcony and inside, we are hoping to build a compost network to share and distribute the overproduce for urban gardens in the neighbourhood – the CC compost collective!
